Dorothy + Harry

60th wedding anniversary <3 //

This is Dorothy & Harry and this month they will be celebrating 60 years of marriage!

Not only are they the cutest couple going but they’re also Sarah-Jane’s grandparents so this was a pretty special shoot for us, seeing them having a giggle and helping each other through the forest while we talked about their wedding day 6 decades ago was super inspiring.

It was December 21st 1957 at around 2pm on a chilly day when they got married at St John’s Parish, Birtley after planning and saving for their day for 4 years. So, we couldn’t think of a better place to start our day out with them and headed to the church where it all happened. On the way we passed the Red Lion pub which is where Grandad asked Grandma if she was going to a local dance, he was fresh out of the army and aged 23 and Grandma was only 18. HOW SWEEET THOUGH? Can we please bring back dances?

Although a lot of things can change in 60 years there’s one really obvious thing that absolutely hasn’t changed one bit.

Our hearts are so full they could burst.
